Privacy Policy
We keep only what we need to run the site safely, stop it being misused and make it better. We never sell any information, pass it to anyone for advertising, or spam you.
This website
apnavote.com is for information only: there is no sign-in here, and we keep no personal information about you on it. The voter list opens at voters.apnavote.com.
When you sign in
Seeing the lists needs a Google sign-in (through Clerk). We then keep your name, email and profile photo, and when you last visited. This is only to run your account and stop misuse of the site. We never see your password.
Your WhatsApp number, village and panchayat samiti
Before using the site, every account must give its WhatsApp number, village and panchayat samiti. This is required: the lists don't open without it. These details help us make sure the site isn't misused for abuse, fraud or scams.
These details are only for security and for contacting you when we need to. We don't sell them or give them to anyone, we don't send you spam or promotional messages, and we don't message you for no reason. We may contact you only when we need to talk to you about your account or a request.
The details are given once. If you give incorrect information, your account will be blocked permanently.
How the site is used
To improve the site we look at how it is used: which pages and villages you open and for how long, what you type into searches and how many results they find, which voters you open and how far you scroll, what you copy, share or download, errors you run into, your phone or browser and its settings (screen, language, time zone, network), your IP address, internet provider and the location it points to. This is linked to your account and is deleted automatically after three months. We never use it for advertising or sell it.
Asking for a village to be opened or added
If you send a request to open a locked village, or to add a village that isn't on the site, it gives us your name, email and WhatsApp number (and the new village's name and place). We use them only to contact you about that request.
What we do not keep
Your language is kept in a cookie and the last village you opened stays in your browser. Share images are made on your phone and are never uploaded.
Other services we use
Sign-in runs through Google and Clerk, and the site runs on a hosting company's servers. These services work under their own policies. Apart from them, we share your information with no one, unless a government authority asks for it under the law.
We take reasonable care to keep your information safe, but no system on the internet is completely secure.
Beware of fraud
Apna Vote never calls you to ask for an OTP, Aadhaar number, bank details or money. If anyone asks for these in our name, do not give them.
Your name in a voter list
The voter details on the site (name, father's or husband's name, ward, serial number, house number, age, gender, voter ID) are taken from the panchayat electoral rolls of the State Election Commission, which the Commission publishes openly on its website for anyone to see. This information belongs entirely to the State Election Commission. Apna Vote does not own it and makes no claim over it.
If you do not want your name shown on Apna Vote, email support@apnavote.com with your village, ward and serial number, and we will remove it here.
Note: this removes it from Apna Vote only, not from the official electoral roll. To add, correct or remove anything in the official roll, contact your BLO.
Deleting your account
You can sign out at any time. To delete your account and everything kept with it, email support@apnavote.com.
